Homeschooling Moms Exercise

I am a mother of six and a homeschooling mom. Staying fit and healthy is important to me, but not as important as my children. For years, I left myself at the bottom of the to do list. I didn’t realize that if I wanted to be my best for my family, I had to keep myself fit. I finally, had my wake up call when I had some heart health issues. I realized then that I needed to make some changes. I knew I had to take care of myself first, and then in turn I would be better suited to take care of the needs of my family.

I started with exercise that fit into my busy mom lifestyle. I knew I needed to get my body into a state of functional fitness. I didn’t want to be a marathon runner or a body builder. I just wanted to be able to run and play and have fun with my family. I started slow and built up. I changed my routine many times, and found that as I did it kept my interest and helped me stay focused. It has been three years now, and I am still exercising 5 times a week for 30 minutes each morning. See, busy moms exercise is possible!

It didn’t take me long to realize that exercise is only half of the ball game, the other half is our diet. What we eat can sabotage our health just as quickly as being a couch potato. I began changing what I ate, as well as what I fed my family. We stopped drinking calorie laden drinks and focused on water. We eat only whole grain breads and follow an easy busy mom’s diet.

So, don’t let it get to the point that you have physical problems. Mom’s take 30 minutes a day to stay healthy for yourself and your family! You won’t regret it!

I’d been ill for years and two years ago, after diagnosis of celiac disease, I joined Fit Mommies. It’s an online support group, very small and cozy now, but still going strong. We’re working hard to become fit to be our best for our families and to regain health.

If you’re interested in mutual fitness support and a weekly check-in, just stop by my blog. We’d love to have you join in.

    Annie Kate,

I would like to grow my muscle in gym. So, as sleeping is one of the important aspects of relaxing muscles, I’m confused if I should go to gym BEFORE SLEEPING(evening) or AFTER SLEEPING(morning)?
